A NOTE FROM JOHN
April 2013

Gearing up for some all-acoustic fun with my sixties partner David Grisman. David's been working with three or four of his trios these last few months, so it's gonna be like stepping onto a train already going sixty. We'll be debuting my signature Martin slope-shoulder, David's Genovese mando, a Ren Furgeson AJ, a Santa Cruz baritone, and a whole new crop of  Hohner harps. Also, banjo duets have been threatened.

Special fun was had at the Ben Vita show at BSP in Kingston, NY. Ben and the Ren-aissance Committee did an adept and enthusiastic set and included pops on harp and loud Gretch Billy-Bo. Vita sang his ass off.

Got the nod from Larry Campbell, a favorite producer/arranger/assassin, to do a little harp on David Bromberg's next effort, due out whenever David damn well pleases.

And as always, thanks for your letters, enthusiasm, and attendance.
