A NOTE FROM JOHN
What an evening at Levon's barn in Woodstock!
An assembly of players gathered, loosely assembled by Connor Kennedy, Amy Helm, and Woodstock's Rock School.
The show opened with a set from the new team that was so strong I was wondering how we'd top it! Dan Littleton and Cindy Cashdollar added to the sauce. Donald Fagen supported all comers and then killed on a version of "Hesitation Blues."
My portion of the fun was to play with this assortment of players and then pull out my surprise card... Graham Nash, who did his PERFECT tenoring on "Rain on the Roof." Love that guy!
Coincidentally, Nash is displaying a new assortment of photographs at the nearby Fletcher Gallery. Go catch it in Woodstock (as you climb the Tinker Street hill).
Roscoe and I are gearing up for a swing with our favorite mandolin man, David "Dog" Grisman. For dates, see schedule. Then on to Alaska, then as it gets cold, a quick visit to Florida.
The other delicious news (for a songwriter) is that the John B. catalogue is now represented by Downtown Music.
